Cheap and Cheerful Chatter: "Free" Lunch at Chick-Fil-A
My friend Karin posted a Facebook link to free Chick-Fil-A Spicy Chicken sandwiches a few weeks ago. Today was the redemption day. One word: yum. We picked up two free sandwiches ($7 value) and spent $5 on a small fry, a large lemonade, and two kiddie cones. Since the sandwiches are large (but only 400 calories) we had lunch for four for $5. Not too shabby. I'd only been to Chick-Fil-A once before. I am going to have to become a more frequent customer. Two words: peach milkshake. I think I need to go back and taste test one for my faithful readers.

Cheap and Cheerful Chatter: Hasbro House Party
Does your family love Trivial Pursuit as much as mine? Hint: think side splitting laughter and inside jokes instead of your more formal knowledge bowl atmosphere. We are all really excited to try the newest Trivial Pursuit Bet You Know It game when we're gathered to celebrate Father's Day. As a host of the Family Game Night House Party, Hasbro sent me Catch Phrase and Taboo as well, plus six boxes of various flavors of Wheat Thins and Triscuits along with Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Pieces to sample. Add my zany family (and, oh yeah, some additional snacks, drinks, and plenty of laughs) and you've got a party.

Deal of the Day: Darth Vader Costume
My kids -- I kid you not! -- start planning their Halloween costumes the day after Easter. So far, I have a 5 year old boy, plus a 3 year old girl who want to be Darth Vader. "Darth and Mini Darth" is what they have dubbed their costume scheme. Luckily, their Nana has agreed to help make the capes and tunics ... but this is not a bad deal for a garb a few steps up from the basic kit costume. It is 45% off the usual price! With what you save on the costume, you could add in the gloves and lightsaber and still come out even. May the shopping force be with you!
