Cheap and Cheerful Cooking: Smoky Corn on the Cob

Corn on the cob was 6 for $.96 at my local Safeway this week. A summer side dish doesn't get much cheaper than that!

Here's a tip from the Food Network to kick your corn up a notch:

Peel back the husks from the corn and remove the silk. Butter the kernels and sprinkle with salt and smoked paprika. Fold the husks back over the corn and grill over low heat until cooked through, turning occasionally, 12 to 15 minutes.

Yummy. And under $1 for six servings.

Favorite Things: Crystal Light Pure Fitness Water

My free sample of Crystal Light Pure Fitness Water from Vocalpoint could not have arrived on a better day. I was so hot and thirsty when I opened the package that I tried two of the three flavors they sent -- Lemon Lime and Strawberry Kiwi. Yum. And yum. I am already a big water drinker but I will be buying more of these flavors for sure. The single serve packages are perfect for tossing in our cooler for our trips to the pool. Hey, I've also got two $2 off coupons to share with two people who comment.

Cheap and Cheerful Chatter: Do you use Priceline?

Do you use Priceline? Maybe it was "beginner's luck" but I just scored a great hotel in San Francisco's Union Square for only $90 per night. Sweet. Can you hear the cable car now?
I'd love to know your Priceline (or other hotel consolidator) success stories.
