Cheap and Cheerful Chatter: Do you use Priceline?

Do you use Priceline? Maybe it was "beginner's luck" but I just scored a great hotel in San Francisco's Union Square for only $90 per night. Sweet. Can you hear the cable car now?
I'd love to know your Priceline (or other hotel consolidator) success stories.

Cheap and Cheerful wants to know: Where do you find great online hotel bargains?

  1. If I know the areas, I either use "name your price" on priceline or hotwire. When I limit the area/star rating, I pretty much know what hotel I will be getting for the price before William Shatner does his negotiating magic.

If I don't want to name my own price, I normally look at Hotwire.com You normally need to be familiar with the areas you are searching to guarantee a better experience, but I have no complaints so far. Hotwire will tell you what type of hotel you will be getting (e.g. Double Tree, Hilton, etc.).

    Good luck Jennifer!
